Costs just keep going up. Year after year the average increase in the cost of tuition has ranged from 6% to 8%. The lower end of the range is typical for private colleges and the upper end for public colleges.
For the 2006-2007 school year this range has narrowed, 5.9% for private colleges and 6.3% for public colleges. Consider the cost of attendance for the University of Georgia, the 1996-1997 cost was $9,000 compared to approximately $15,000 per year for the 2006-2007 school year.
This is a 65% cost increase over 10 years. This increase is comparable to what students at Princeton University found. The cost of attendance was $28,325 ten years ago to $45,500 for the 2006-2007 school year. This represents a 61% cost increase over the last 10 years. This number is expected to increase through the years of 2013-2014. |

Take Action
Most students face two important questions: Can I really go on to higher education with the grades I have? Can I afford to go to college? If you hear yourself saying "no" to either of these two questions, think again. Maybe all you need is to know the right guidance information about what options are available to you.
Misconceptions about the cost of college and the admission process can keep you from achieving your dreams. |
Career
By the late 20th century the career counselor and of the career advisor have grown up. It is also not uncommon for adults in the late 20th/early 21st centuries to have dual or multiple careers, either sequentially or concurrently. Thus, professional identities have become hyphenated or hybridized to reflect this shift in work ethic.
